Sciences
Yearly Goal: To enhance scientific understanding of physics (mainly), and other concepts.
Quarter 2
This quarter in Science, we focused on the fields of Biology, where we expanded our learning of how cells function, the structure of an organism, the difference between cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, as well as organisms is, as well as what makes things live. We also learned about new things such as GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms), more about genes, DNA, chromosomes, and alleles. We also used microscopes this quarter, to increase our understanding of the cell structure, by seeing whats inside a certain living thing such as a leaf. From our teachings, we were assigned to conduct two tests, as well as to create an essay about a certain GMO to test our knowledge, and see how we apply it.

Biology Test
My chosen work for this quarter in Science Biology is the test I have done about cells. In this test we were to answer all the questions, in order to review high marks, and was conducted to test our understanding of the topic. I chose this as my chosen best sample work for the quarter, since I believe that I was able to conduct this test as the most successful assignment in the quarter. This was not primarily because it was easy, or simple, it was because I already knew about the topic before hand. As we were introduced about cells, tissues, organs, systems, and organisms from grade 7 general science. This gave me already pre knowledge about the topic during the test, and made it somewhat easy for me to do. Though I had to review some areas in order to test if I still remember it, and to test if I can still understand how it works. The success of my assignment through knowing about the topic before, gave me advances through the test, making it easy for me to justify difficult questions, as well as overcome obstacles during the test. Justifying the success and legitimacy of this assignment being on of the best ones done this quarter.
The test was based on Criteria A, which focuses on our Knowing and Understanding about the topic. I overall was able to conduct the test, and criteria well. As I was able to understand its concepts, and know what the topic was about. Though some review was required to refresh my mind about the topic, the night before the test. I was able to access my archive informations quickly, and quickly understood what the topic was about again. This helped me to conduct the test successful, and well. Though there were several things I could improve next time. As there were several questions, I wasn't able to get the full mark on. These questions were usually somewhat basic errors, and mistakes, as the facts were somewhat to basic, leaving them not to study during my review session. One question though I should have looked more careful at, as the picture was unclear, and if I had used my common sense, which I often mistrust due to several issues of it in the past, I could have gotten them right. I hope not to do these mistakes again, by during study test and cover also the very simple and somewhat unfamiliar stuff, that we haven't studied or learned about in class, but is related to the topic. So that I am able to answer the simple questions correctly, and justify more difficult questions in the justifying section. As well as use my common sense more often, and trust it by believing in myself more often, to get unclear but common sensible problems correct next time. Just by using common sense and covering all material more properly I would hopefully next time be able to get the maximum grade on these tests. As these are the two factors responsible for my failure to obtain a maximum grade for the test.
The key concept this quarter for Science Biology is Systems. We increased and developed our understanding of the key concept, by studying about how body systems work, and relate to one another. Seeing how certain cells together could form tissues, and how certain tissues together could form organs, and that organs together form a organ system, and that a set of organ system creates an organisms. We also learned how systems are connected to one another through this, and learned also about systems in genetics, and how if these systems are altered could create GMOs, that could benefit the environment they live in. Systems are a part of biology, as that is how the world works together, and we often use this key concept when trying to understand how certain things work like cells. As by studying the systems in cells, we could see patterns, and by knowing what the pattern is, we would get an easier understanding on this complex world. In Biology we learn about cells to understand the key concept of systems, in order to make it easier to understand.
