Quarter 1
Reflection
This quarter in English we mainly reviewed and learned more about propaganda. Though the topic was a very easy and simple topic for me to understand and learn. The work that I did very well this quarter in English was the English presentation about one type of propaganda. My given propaganda technique was name calling. I mainly did well in the presentation because I followed instructions, read the criteria, and basically presented well. The presentation was one of the best works for English because I have achieved one of the highest grades in the class achieving a 7 out of an 8, and was one of the few that didn’t get a bad grade for not reading the criteria. A thing that I want to improve this quarter to do better next quarter is to write a better essay. I would achieve this goal by first creating a clear goal, knowing clearly what to write about and listen to instructions more carefully. Basically I was very confused about how to write my essay, and my topic. I hope that this would never happen again, and that I would succeed in English essays in the future.
Global Context
The Global context that I suppose is most related to English this quarter is the global context of Science and Technological Innovations. It is this global context because in order to study the types of propagandas, and research about the propagandas we needed out TVs, and Internet in order to do it. The TV helped us to see different types of propaganda. In the form of commercials which helped us to study it. The internet helped us to research about the propaganda technique, and see the propagandas used around the world. Both the TV and Internet helped us to achieve our goals and understand propaganda. Without the two devices we could still find propaganda in our daily life in the forms of posters and bill boards. However if they weren't even there then propaganda wouldn't have existed or wouldn't be that effective, resulting in us not have this topic for this quarter, and would make it definitely more difficult to understand propaganda or research about it.
