Reflection
The topic we learned about this quarter in civics was globalization. We learned about how globalization effects Indonesian society, and why it is so important for the Indonesian economy. We learned that globalization is very beneficial for Indonesia's economy since it enables Indonesia to do trade with the entire world, and that business relations could be done with all parts of the world as well. That it helps Indonesia to be open to the world, in ways of culture, tradition, and society. However that at the same time it also effects Indonesia's culture and tradition since Indonesia is also open to foreign cultures and traditions. Which may result in people blending in with other cultures, societies, and traditions but at the same time forget their own. For my chosen best sample of work is my groups civics presentation about globalizations effect on Indonesia's society. It wasn't really that difficult for me to do since I already understood most of its concepts, and knew how it all actually worked. Though I do want to learn more and find a solution how to solve the problem of Indonesians forgetting their own traditions and cultures, and blending in with other and foreign cultures and traditions. Next time I hope to find this solution by researching even more about this topic, and mastering the topic. I would like to do some web browsing about it, since politics is my future. Though I also hope to preserve my success in understanding how globalization works and what its effects could be. The teacher himself was very happy with the presentations, and said that he was able to understand it, and that we had good analysis of the topic.
Global Context
The chosen topic this quarter for civics would be Globalization and Sustainability. Hence the topic itself was about globalization, and a partially about sustainability. I have chosen this Global Context for this subject because we learned on how everything is connected, and that if things are related to one another, the effect would also be carried on. For example if Indonesia has global connections with the world (which it has), it would also effect Indonesia. Since Indonesia would be open to foreign ideas, which would lead into the people forgetting their own society and traditions, if not preserved.
