Product Design
Yearly Goal: To develop a toy that would be able to teach a specific skill, and entertain its users.
Quarter 1
This quarter in Design Technology (DT), also known as Product Design, we worked on our carpentry skills. It was a very interactive and fun quarter for DT, since we made several products with our carpentry skills which include a laptopper, and a pencil case. We learned basic carpentry skills like drilling, sewing, sawing, sanding, and filling. We also learned about Indonesian traditional games, which we would have to produce a type of game at the end of the year with the use of our carpentry skills. I was able to do most of my DT work well during this quarter, but wish to improve several things like the quality of neatness in my work to obtain higher marks next time.

Pencil Case Evaluation
CHOSEN WORK
My chosen work for this quarter during DT is my evaluation I have made for my pencil case. This was by far the most successful of works I have produced during this quarter. I have been successful in obtaining a high mark or my evaluation because I was able to get to the point in my evaluation, and evaluate the process I did when producing my pencil case, while also evaluating and justifying the changes I want to do next time on the method producing my pencil case. By evaluating and justifying my changes and the process, I was able to produce a highly detailed evaluation with good quality.
IMPROVEMENTS
Several things I want to improve next time in my evaluation for my pencil case is to analyze a bit deeper on the things like the process, and product. Though I have been successful in producing a clear evaluation of both the process and product, some lack of analysis eventually let to the disability for me to obtain the maximum mark. If I would have analyzed a bit deeper in these fields during the evaluation, I might have had a chance to obtain the maximum mark. Next time I would like to improve my evaluation, by proof reading it several times before I submit it. By proof reading my work, I would know what is missing, and what I could analyze more deeply. By creating a deeply analyzed and highly quality evaluation. I would be able obtain the maximum mark.
KEY CONCEPT: COMMUNITIES
In DT we have learned a lot about things related to our key concept. We learned about how different toys around Indonesia represent a moral value or purpose in the community it originates from. We learned that different values throughout communities in Indonesia, results in different toys being produced. By knowing what the different perspective is of the different communities, we would know what toy we would produce throughout this year, and the purpose its purpose based on its community. In my case since I am in the Sulawesi group, I should produce a toy this year which serves the value of the Sulawesi community.
