Civics
Reflection
For civics this quarter I have learned about Indonesia’s state defense. I have learned about the kinds of Indonesian state defenses, the importance of Indonesia’s state defense, and about how it all works together. The quarter was for me very easy, and fun since I already had pre-knowledge of the Indonesian state defense before the quarter, because I like to research about world militaries, economies, and politics, especially Indonesia’s. The work that I found that I have done very well in this quarter was my test. I got a high score, but sadly not the highest. The things I did well to achieve the score was to study well about the test, and basically do some research about the topic. I would like to improve the grades by basically also explaining more about the disadvantages of the dedication to profession to achieve the maximum grade. I would achieve this by thinking critically. Also during our state defense presentation I would like to improve myself in the way I presented since I was actually very prepared for it, but failed to present well due to nervousness. I hope to improve it by having self-confidence, practicing before hand, and trusting my audience.
Global Context
The global context that is most related to civics is Science and Technical Innovation. It is this global context because in civics we mainly used internet to do a research about the topic which was state defense. We in order to use internet used our laptops. By having internet we could research about Indonesia's state defense, and understand how it works. The internet was known to be very useful for our topic since it was filled with information, which was up to date. For example the websites on internet could be edited each time, while a book can not so if there is a website that has been created in 2010, the information might still be valid since the government could have edited it in 2014. We also used the internet to create a presentation about the topic, and used it to present the presentation in front of the class. Without the internet doing this topic would be possible but finding valid information would be a lot more difficult.
