Individuals and Society
Quarter 1
Reflection
This quarter in Individuals and Society (Humanities last year), my fellow classmates and I learned about the industrial revolution. Though we have already been thought about what the Industrial Revolution was last year, and the year before. This quarter we learned even more about it, and most of it were things I have never heard of before, like socio economic gap, globalization, and how quantity and quality works. It was overall a very interesting topic, and was very related to economics I suppose due to socio economic gap, status, distribution, and globalization.
The sample of my work that I have overall done very well in this quarter was I think my test. Though I got a 6 out of an 8 rather then an 8 out of an 8. I am still proud of it, and that I studied well for it. Throughout the quarter I also worked hard into understanding the topic, but I think that could of improved more. I hope that next time I could maximize the grades by studying even more, and understanding more what we are talking about. Since it would help me answer my questions without confusion.
Global Context
I think that the global context that is most related to Individuals and Society is Identities and Relationships. It is this global context because this quarter we have learned about the Industrial Revolution, how it all began, and how it affects the life we live in today. The Industrial Revolution was all about developing and improvement makes it also very related to the global context of Science and Technical Innovation. However it is Identities and Relationships because we have learned the surrounding environment impacted and triggered the Industrial Revolution. Such as that the Industrial Revolution happened in England mainly because it was near coal. Which was a new power source leading to numerous inventions. Also it is related to identities mainly because not only did the world evolve from this revolution but also we as humans did mentally. Changing our ways of life, our behavior, and our appearance. Mainly changing society from an agrarian one to an industrialized mechanized one.
