Quarter 2
This quarter in Bahasa Indonesia class we learned several new things. This included more Indonesian vocabulary, as well as grammar, and how to do a proper job interview in Indonesian. We focused on what important factors affect a job interview, like the use of words, grammar, and information provided. We also learned how to write a CV, as well as a introduction letter for the job interview and CV, as well as focusing on what questions are necessary to ask during a job interview.

The Job Interview
My chosen work for this quarter was the job interview, where I had to find an interesting job at Bank Mandiri, and apply for a position there. Afterwards I had to make a CV to apply for a position there, and prepare myself for the interview. In where I had to prepare suitable and appropriate clothing, as well as the necessary information I would present for the person interviewing me in the HDR department. The reason why I chose this as my best sample of work for the quarter, was because I liked the assignment. I liked how it felt to be an adult and apply for a position at a business, and how it felt to finally have completed university and my academic years at school. It also gave me a good experience, and simulation how it would feel like in the future, and I believe that the job interview assignment was important as well. Since through this I would be more prepared for the future, by knowing what I did wrong, and having the opportunity in the future to improve it. I would also be able to know what I did right, and know how to keep them up, so that I would have less difficulty when conducting such an interview in the future. Therefore I chose this assignment, not only because it was something fun to do as a school project, but also as it prepares me for the future, and teaches me what is necessary to prepare.
The criteria for this assignment was based on the professionalism we demonstrated during the job interview. This was based on the quality of the replies we had made on the questions of the people in the HDR office, use of language and grammar, appearance and body posture, as well as our body language. I believe though that I conducted most part of the assignment pretty well, producing a good CV, as well as dressing properly for the job interview using my father's oversized suit. However I did realize half way through the interview that something wasn't quite right, and felt a bit tired. This though resulted in my down fall through the interview, as with my tired brain I wasn't able to clearly speak my Indonesian properly, as well as produce good replies. I also according to my graded criteria wasn't able to sit and maintain a good body posture. Though I disagreed with this, as I felt like I sat straight most of the time. However with the bad Indonesian replies, I wasn't able to answer the questions properly on the interview, which highly affected the quality of the interview. Lowering the overall grades I received for my criteria, at least by a point. Especially for the criteria focusing on the use of language and grammar. To prevent this from happening next time. I suggest not only to sleep early next time, so that I would be more energetic and ready the following day, but also to prepare more before hand for the job interview by practicing with friends. By practicing, which we were actually suppose to do. I would be able to more effectively know what to reply during the interview. As I would have already faced the obstacles before hand, like language use, and produced solutions to it to overcome language problems. Through this hopefully my interviews would improve in quality the next time I conduct them.
The key concept for this quarter in Bahasa Indonesia is Communication. We developed this key concept through learning how to do a proper job interview in Indonesian. As through understanding how to communicate more effectively in Indonesian, as well as in any language. It would be easier to develop more accurate responses, as well as to explain and justify more easily certain ideas. Through effective communication, one also knows what is necessary to say during a job interview, in order to persuade him/her to hire them for the job. By developing this key concept through the quarter, we were able in the end to carry out our project which was the job interview. To test how well we have developed our understanding of what it means by good communication skills.
